The Houston Zoo has taken a step towards enhancing the experience of its 2.1 million annual visitors with the launch of a new mobile-friendly interactive digital map and mobile app, powered by the SmartParks platform. The app, which has been introduced in conjunction with the unveiling of the new Galápagos Islands exhibit, provides real-time information about the zoo throughout the day. With the implementation of SmartParks, the Houston Zoo team has created a highly interactive digital map that enables visitors to navigate the zoo with ease.

At the Houston Zoo, we’ve been working on our new interactive map for the past few months and are thrilled about its launch! In just one week, we’ve seen a 61% increase in map QR code scans. My favorite aspect of the map has been the ease of working with the SmartParks team and being quickly empowered to build and manage all aspects of our Zoo map.
